Day Five [5] at Seoul - Buk-chon Hanok Village

Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional houses called 'hanok' that date back to the Joseon Dynasty. The name, 'Bukchon,' which literally translates to 'northern village,' came about as the neighborhoods that the village covers lie to the north of the two significant Seoul landmarks, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. It is a very clean and peaceful place.

Today, many of these hanoks operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses, providing an opportunity to experience, learn and immerse in Korean traditional culture.

Recycling is important!

Autumn has started!

Colorful Flowers.

 View from above.
 Nicely constructed and well designed.
 Well preserved.

The both of us, on our way up the village.
Photo credit to the really nice auntie. She kept trying to explain to us the history of the village 98% in korean languange. We can only smile and nodded as if we understand :p.
