Busan-Gwangju Part 6

Gwangli Beach
Gwangan Bridge which is also known as the diamond bridge because it  shines like a diamond necklace.
#howdoyougetthere
Get off at Gwangan Station (Busan Subway Line 2) Exit 3 or 5.

Couldn't really remembered which exit did we actually take, but immediate after the exit we saw this and that arrow means alley at your back! not front alley ahhaaa, mistake we made we took the font alley and found us lost.
Nevermind just find your way to the main road, you most probably will find direction signage on the pavement. The beach is just along their main road.

Just perfect.

 City of lights πŸ’₯

Gwangalli is known as “CafΓ© Town”: a well-deserved nickname. Coffee places are everywhere, bars as well! With the beach view during night time is incredibly amazing, you shouldn't miss it. Gwangalli being known as well as a party city πŸ’

Busan-Gwangju Part 5

Last day before heading back to KL the next day
We were supposed to go to Haeundae Beach and including check out the biggest department store Shinsegae Centum City but hmmm.. Plan cancel, we decided to check out Bujeon Market instead.

Bujeon Market
#howtogothere
Line One from Busan Station (Orange Color) to Bujeon, exit 1. As soon as coming out of Exit 1 walk across the street - beside IBS Busan Hotel - Bujeon Station, the market's main attractions begin.

Here stated Exit 5 Bujeon Market but well I still found exit 1 is nearer since all you have to do is crossing the road instead if from exit 5, you have to walk one min away but still towards Exit 1 πŸ‘΄

Bujeon market is not as famous as Jagalchi Market but it's actually the biggest market here in Busan.
Some said it cheaper than Jagalchi since it's still not exposed too much to tourists yet compare to Jagalchi.

Variaties of Kimchi, told the Ahjumonie that we're taking back the Kimchi back with aeroplane hand action πŸ˜‚
So she immediate helped us wrapped our kimchi properly.

Much more bigger than these picture.

Mom favourite seafoods, abalone is everywhere in Bujeon Market including dry abalone.

The point is, please visit Bujeon market. If you're staying/renting in apartment buy all your groceries here too. You can find almost anything you need.
Next visit to Busan, Bupyeong market is def my next target, I was told it open during night time too.

Spring in Busan next year πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Busan-Gwangju Part 4

The reason why we were here in Gwangju.
#Naejangsan Park

Naejangsan Park actually divided into two main attraction which are Baekyangsa temple and Naejangsa temple. Well at least that is how I divide it. Depend on which temples are you going, we were told that Baekyangsa temple (featured in this post) is actually in Jeollonamdo and closer to Gwangju.  and Naejangsan Temple is in Jeollobokdo.
Don't get confuse, this two temple is still in Naejangsan Park just that it nearly impossible to visit both temples on the same day.

#howdowegetthere #travellikealocal
Bought ticket at Gwangju Bus Station to Jangseong, alight at Jangseong Bus station, bought another ticket Jangseong to Baekyangsa Temple (1Hour and 10min).

Tips : another option is to travel from Gwangju to Jeongeup, then take local bus no. 171 to Naejangsan National Park - Naejangsan temple.

Bus schedule from Jangseong #Ifyoucanreadhangul

Well lucky us we met this Ahjussi who went to Baekyangsa temple as well, so he told us to follow him (on which bus to be taken after). Well it was very difficult to identify bus to Baekyangsa since all signage and direction mostly in hangul. So we were really GRATEFUL that nice Ahjussi. #ThankGodwemanagedtotakethecorrectbus πŸ‘§

 Finally we arrived our destination.

Walk up to the temple #longwalk

If you willing to walk or can I say hike further, go to the view point

The return bus schedule from Baekyangsa Temple #Ifyouknowhowtoreadhangul

No ticket counter at Baekyangsa, just wait for bus to Jangseong at the arrival point. Paid the bus fee when you arrived destination.

The same day when we reached Gwangju Bus Station, we immediately bought ticket to Busan Sasang Station anotehr 3hours10minutes journey. We reached Busan about 7:15pm and took subway to Nampo for another 30minutes.
It was very tiring but worth every sweat πŸ’‹πŸ’‹πŸ’‹

Busan-Gwangju Part 3

It's about time to talk about Gwangju (Finally),
Yea.
#Chasingautumnfallfoliage
 πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

First we made our way to Gwangju,
 #howdoyougothere
Find your way to Busan Seobu Intercity Bus Terminal, for us we took subway from Nampo station and alight at Sasang Station (Busan Subway Line No.1) Exit 5 - Terminal Bus just at the back of station.

Note that there are two type of ticketone cost 15,200won (twice a day) and another type is 21,200won (more frequent), if you want to save some cost check out on the schedule on the website.
It took almost 3 and half hours to arrive Gwangju with 15min stop in thhe middle of your way, so tired anyway.

 Enjoy the scenery.

When we reached Gwangju Bus station, we grabbed some lunch at Lotteria and trying to fugure out our way to our hostel. The google maps here in Gwangju really did not help much. It kept making us walked around the same place all over again. So we decided to asked around, went in to the station bus again looking for information counter. We desperately needed someone who can speak in English πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Next to Gwangju Bus Station is Shinsagea Shopping Mall & e Mart next to it. If you find your hostel check in time is not as normal hours - like our case it was on 6pm πŸ˜ͺ put all your stuff at the lockers and spare some money for shopping hahaa..

The colours of leaves have changed here compare to Busan! So excited to go to Naejangsan Park the next day. That was the purposed we came all the way to Gwangju actually, we wanted to visit Naejangsan Park to see the autumn fall foliage.

Breeze of Cold.

Anyway, we decided to find the nearest subway station - you actually have to walk further from the bus station to find one. Headed our way to Daein Market λŒ€μΈμ‹œμž₯, but most of street shop here close on Sunday #whatadissapointment.
#Howdoyougetthere  Daein Market λŒ€μΈμ‹œμž₯
Take Subway Line 1 to Geumnamno4(sa)-Ga
My apologise, couldn't remembered which exit that we took but I'm sure it written on the direction signage at the station. Take a good look.

#update! Found You - Take Exit 4 to Daien Market

Daien Market was open 24hours on Saturday, maybe that was the reason most of the stalls closed on Sunday #okaygivethemabreakNona πŸ˜‚
Despite of that we still enjoyed it and managed to grab some fresh Kimchi and fruits as well.

Entrance.

After a long bus tripped and walked around the town, damn we walked a lots! Most of the time we found ourselves lost Hahaa.
So finally it was about time to check in! Finally.
-Time to have some rest- and yes no night out today, I didn't think that any of us have the energy to do so. And the temperature here in Gwangju is freaking cold. Colder than busan.

Busan-Gwangju Part 2

Day 2.
After shopping session yesterday (mostly at cosmetic - skincare shop), so the second day was meant for sightseeing.

Taejongdae.
#howtogetthere
From Nampo Station - Coming out from Exit No.6 at Nampo Subway Station, walk straight forwards the bridge (LOTTE) or about half a minute, where you’ll see the bus stops roughly opposite Lotte Department Store.Take bus No. 8 or 30,or 88, 101 avoid 88.1.
Taejongdae is the last stop. The journey take almost 30 minute.

When we reached Tajongdae Park, we have to walk up a bit further to the Danubi train point (unless you are willing to walk up and down the hills) it only start operation at 9am. So we waited with odeng soup in hand - it was so COLD.

The Danubi train will stop at 5 points, but somehow I remembered the first stop was directly to Observation Platform.

Nothing much at the observation platform, it just this view though.

But from the observation platform to the lighthouse station please just walk. It is quite near rather than waiting for the danubi train, 5 minute walk with amazing scenery was so much fun.

But hey, when you reached the lighthouse station, you have to walk down the staircases (a lots of it until you loose count) to reach the main attraction - the lighthouse.
And the staircases not yet ended there, walked further down to go to the rock cliff by the sea.
Man it was very tiring.

 Edge of life.

If you wanted to experience fresh sashimi by the sea like us, get yourself some of it here.

Man this was expensive 40,000 won for these. The only edible type is the white one. The rest of it, I still can felt the weird sweet bitter and smell of sashimi at my throat for hours.
........................................................

Walking down the staircases was tiring, but walking up is challenging phewwwwww.
I stopped too many time to get some air. We were pretty much exhausted.

For lunch we decided to check out the Clamp Tent nearby, just  asked the information counter at the entrance how to go there. It was on the right side of the entrance but maybe 15minutes away to the main road until you see seaside all along the road.
Previously there were a lots of stalls/ tents set up along the beach but due to the recent typhoon only 3 stalls have started their business already. I'm not complaining cause the foods still amazing. Thumbs up.

We ordered a set of 50,000won clamp (refer below pic) and another one big bowl of mussels - included in the set.

Going back to town was easy, just return back to the bus stop and took the same bus which will bring you to Lotte Department bus stop which leads to Nampo Subway.
Once you reached this Yeongdo bridge, you'll see Lotte Department building. The next stop is yours.

 Yeongdo bridge

Yeongdodaegyo Bridge connects Jung-gu and Yeongdo-gu districts in Busan. Constructed in November 1934, it was the first island-land connecting bridge in Busan and the only single-leaf bascule bridge in Korea. The bridge lifts up on one side to make way for large vessels.

Bridge lifts up at 14:00-14:15 (every day)

Lucky us to be there exactly the time for the bridge to lift up. All traffics stopped and we the construction freak (hahaa) immediately got down from the bus (our station was near by anyway) just to watch this. after that before the traffic continued we had to climbed up the fence  to the pedestrian walkway on the side.
Lotte shopping mall just at the end of the bridge anyway. Welcome to shopping world again #duhduhduh
